URL Filtering - enables you to restrict Web access by category, users, time of day, URL, or file type. The policy engine is highly flexible and intuitive, enabling organizations to create policies and monitor behavior for specific users and groups.
Web AntiVirus and AntiSpyware – multiple commercial anti-spyware and anti-virus engines scan Web content for viruses and malware, blocking threats before they reach your network, protecting your business from information theft and costly diminished network performance.

Roaming user support is available and extends protection, policies and quota limits to employees who are outside the corporate network. The service is also backed by an aggressive Service Level Agreement with performance levels for uptime, latency and detection of known viruses to provide added peace of mind and confidence.

How Web Security.cloud Services works:

Web traffic requests are routed through Symantec.cloud and checked against your acceptable use policy
If no policy rule is triggered, the request passes through
If a policy rule is triggered, the request is either logged and allowed to pass or access to the Web page is denied
Web page requests are retrieved by Symantec before delivery to your network and are scanned for known and emerging Web threats
New and converged malware threats are identified by Skeptic™, while known threats are identified by multiple malware signature engines
When a threat is identified, access to the requested Web page is denied
If no threat is identified, the page is delivered to the user

System Requirements

Web Security.cloud is a hosted service. To access the Web-based administration console, users need:

Internet Explorer versions 6 or above
Firefox versions 2 or above

The Smart Connect roaming user agent can be used with Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer (all versions).
