Symantec.cloud Email AntiVirus service uses a combination of technologies to deliver an industry-leading antivirus solution. First, to deal with known viruses, perimeter defenses deploy traffic and connection management controls to identify unwanted email from known sources such as botnets, and to slow it down and reject it. Then, new and previously unknown malware is intercepted and blocked by our Skeptic™ technology. Furthermore, using Converged Threat Analysis™, suspicious hyperlinks that may be shared across multiple protocols, including email, Web and IM, are analysed and malware hidden behind URLs is blocked accordingly.
