How Web AntiVirus and AntiSpyware works:

Our Web AntiSpyware and AntiVirus service uses multiple signature scanning engines plus our proprietary technology, Skeptic™, to deliver the ultimate protection from the most sophisticated and targeted Web-based threats.

• Web traffic requests are routed through the Symantec.cloud global infrastructure and checked against your acceptable use policy
• If no policy rule is triggered, the request passes through
• Web page requests are retrieved by Symantec.cloud before delivery to your network and are scanned for known and emerging Web threats
• New and converged malware threats are identified by Skeptic™, while known threats are identified by multiple malware signature engines
• When a threat is identified, access to the requested Web page is denied
• If no threat is identified, the page is delivered to the user

System Requirements

Web Security.cloud is a hosted service. To access the Web-based administration console, users need:

• Internet Explorer versions 6 or above
• Firefox versions 2 or above
